Ethical & Sustainability Policy
Fauna Forever Tambopata aims to operate the Project according to the following ethical and sustainable
principles:
- We
use environmentally friendly products where possible and encourage any
participants in the Project to do so;
- We
support a number of local not-for-profit organisations, small businesses and centres of higher education in
Tambopata;
- We
use our proceeds to fund our own environmental initiatives;
- We
endorse the principles of sustainability;
- We
aim to treat our volunteers and staff honestly and competently;
- We
aim to be carbon neutral;
- We strongly encourage volunteers offset
their flight-related carbon emissions;
- We offset carbon emissions generated in Tambopata during the Project;
- We
demonstrate and promote good working practise in all our wildlife monitoring and
handling activities;
- We
demonstrate respect for all wildlife and the environment;
- We
minimise the environmental impacts of monitoring methods used;
- We
have a strict recycling policy;
- We
aim to be a 'paperless' office in the UK;
- We
will seek approval to work with local communities where necessary;
- We
will respect local cultures;
- We
will abide by the strict regulations of the Peruvian National Park Authorities
when working in protected areas;
- We
use the only bank in the UK which has an ethical policy. The Bank pledges 1.25p for every £1 spent to the Customers Who Care campaign. The Bank has a published Ethical Policy cleearly stating where money will and will not be invested.
