The Management Team

The management team consists of Chris Kirkby (the brain-child of the Fauna Forever concept, and Director of Research for TReeS-Peru), and is supported by a number of volunteer staff and volunteer researchers working in various parts of the world including the UK, Canada and the USA.

Since my early days as a Resident Naturalist and Tour
Guide in one of Tambopata's many lodges, and with an unhealthy interest in termites, I went on to participate as a field assistant in a couple of projects and subsequently joined TReeS as a volunteer towards the end of 1995.
It was shortly after this that I was encouraged to head-up the first investigation into tourism related impacts on wildlife in Tambopata which took place over a two-uear period (1997-98). The initiative was called Project Tambopata, which can be considered the birth of the Fauna Forever project concept. In 2004, I led another round of wildlife monitoring, under the Fauna Forever banner.

I have gradually developed my skills, including taking a Masters degree in Resource Management in 2000 and a PhD in Environmental Economics and Biodiversity Valuation in 2005, and now consider myself a specialist in Amazonia
n natural resource management, ecological economics, ecotourism development, and environmental monitoring.

I have tried hard to visit as much of Peru as I can, a fabulous country if ever there was one, however a lifetime will hardly be enough time. I am married to a Peruvian, have a 3-year old child, and I like yellow, Marmite and Yorkie bars.
